The Association of German Architects BDA is governed by a nationally elected board of directors (Präsidium) with President, vice president and three to five other national executives together with the council of state component executives (Bundesvorstand) of the 16 federal states components. The national component is located in the Capital Berlin within the German Architecture Center DAZ (Deutsches Architektur Zentrum).
Presence through Regional BDA Associations
One of the particular strengths of the BDA is its regional presence in the form of 16 state offices as well as regional and municipal BDA subgroups. Committed to a continuing discourse on regional building culture, BDA supports a critical discussion on topics related to planning and building. It offers architectural awards and engages in numerous other activities – lectures, exhibitions, workshops and publications.
