The Association of German Architects BDA is governed by a nationally elected board of directors (Präsidium) with President, vice president and three to five other national executives together with the council of state component executives (Bundesvorstand) of the 16 federal states components. The national component is located in the Capital Berlin within the German Architecture Center DAZ (Deutsches Architektur Zentrum).

Working groups
Any member and honary member of the federal and the national associations can become a member of a working group. Other professionals who are active in fields of the working group can be invited to participate in the group.
